St. John’s Acdemy Vettukad is the long cherished dream child of john haw service society and the local people from vettukad area. It is currently situated in Puthur panchayath Vettukad on chempankandam Road from Pulinchod . The mere aim of starting an English medium School in this remote area of Thrissur district was the request of the local people to the sisters to educate their children with values. As usual we had a very humble beginning of this institution initially with preprimary alone as part of Ashadeepam rehabilitation centre , Vettuakad. Then it slowly grew up in number and quality to Ashadeepam Primary Section under the able leadership of Sr. Sajita the headmistress.As it’s growth was slow but steady it was a felt need of the people around and John Haw Service society that the school needs more infrastructure and facilities to meet the requirements of a full fledged CBSE School .

Thus the dream of purchasing a piece of land for new school building emerged. This was given much thought and the present institution St. John’s Academy Vettukad with its scenic beauty and quality is the hard work and toil of our pioneer staff and management .Constructions progressed and great efforts were put in to prepare all documents required for a CBSE school starting from obtaining No Objection Certificate from DPI Trivandrum and several other necessary certificates like building permit ,Fire safety, Sanitation and other state government requirements and CBSE requirements. Setting of Science lab was successfully completed. The institution was thus growing in quality and quantity. The new school building was completed , blessed and inaugurated in 2013. The initial inspection for Affiliation was carried out in 2014 successfully.

It was in 2015 the school was officially affiliated to CBSE Delhi. The first batch of 15 students appeared for board exam in 2015-16 in flying colours. It was during this time an approach road to the school was constructed which made transportation of Students easier. And purchase of a school bus in 2019 made transportation still easier and safer for students from remote areas.The new principal Sr. Rupa took charge in 2019 continued with the extension of affiliation procedures clearing all legal hurdles and the affiliation was extended up to March 2023. Renovation of the compound wall and construction of new school main gate and installing of Fire alarm and safe drinking water facility play ground extension were major developmental activities undertaken as part of CBSE safety requirements for extension of Affiliation . So far four batches cleared their board exam with outstanding results. Though small in number our students who passed out from this institution excel in academic , quality and character wherever they are placed for their higher studies. At present we are popularly known by the products of our education our ex- students and their excellent performance in their respective fields. St. john’s Academy continues it’s journey joyously catering to the educational needs of economically poor students from Vettuakd.
